Welcoming Our New Honorary Director

The Council on Interdisciplinary Advancement has inducted a new honorary director & member, Karen Brophy.

The Executive Chairman has had the great experience of working with Karen at Hearst Corporation, in the newspaper division. Karen led the division’s digital strategy and operations as SVP. She had excellent instincts, decision-making skills, and intuition regarding how to optimize the team and ensure everyone had what they needed to excel.

Karen is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the University of Missouri-Columbia at the Reynold’s Journalism Institute. She has also held the position of President of Nexstar Media, where she successfully led the organization’s digital line of business across multiple well-known properties, including the CW, NewsNation, ABC, Fox, HSN, and many others.
