Welcoming Our New Secretary of the Organization

The Council on Interdisciplinary Advancement welcomes Sally Slack as its new Secretary of the Organization.

Sally E. Slack is a multifaceted executive leader with a proven track record of bridging the gap between complex enterprise operations and human-centered protection. Currently a Life and Health Insurance Consultant with The Lotz Agency, Sally leverages a deep background in risk and communications to provide families and businesses with foundational security. Her expertise spans mortgage protection, Medicare supplements, and final expense planning, where she focuses on closing the "gaps" in coverage that leave organizations and individuals vulnerable to life’s uncertainties.

Sally’s leadership in the digital space is equally formidable. As the former Associate General Manager at People Inc., she directed business and editorial operations for five major digital brands, including Lifewire and Treehugger. Sally is credited with building editorial infrastructures from the ground up, managing P&L-aligned strategies that scaled content to 17,000+ articles and generated over $20M in sales opportunities. Her ability to align cross-functional teams across product, revenue, and AI operations has consistently driven triple-digit e-commerce conversions and significant year-over-year revenue growth.

Beyond publishing, Sally has spent over 15 years as a Business & Communications Consultant for global giants such as Microsoft, IBM, Lenovo, and State Farm. She has been a key architect in large-scale digital transformations, navigating post-acquisition integrations and global system roll-outs (such as IBM’s Siebel implementation). A graduate of California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and a member of The Author’s Guild, Sally is recognized for her ability to translate complex technology and regulatory landscapes into actionable business narratives that drive organizational performance and engagement.

Sally will be instrumental with helping out with our committees, including content, marketing, and communications. She will also be invaluable with handling communications through social platforms like LinkedIn.

We at the Organization are very happy to have Sally on our Team!

Sincerely,

The Executive Board & Advisors of The Council on Interdisciplinary Advancement
