The Council on Interdisciplinary Advancement Has Officially Received 501(c)(3)-Exemption and 509(a)(2) Charitable Status from the Internal Revenue Service

Today, I'm excited to announce that the non-profit organization I created, The Council on Interdisciplinary Advancement, has officially received 501(c)(3) exemption status from the United States Internal Revenue Service as well as a 509(a)(2) public charity designation! Thank you, Internal Revenue Service!

Also a huge thank you to Giancarlo Morillo, Danny Ferrauiola, and Marc Cristiano, all of whom were very supportive when I was planning this and are joining the organization as board members. We're still in the process of electing candidates for the remaining board seats.

The mission is to support corporate and academic professionals as well as business owners, who are not corporate officers, by providing networking opportunities, education, mentorship, and cross-functional partnerships. Our goal is to help individuals who face challenges in finding new work, advancing in their current roles, transitioning to different industries, or launching their own businesses.

I took on the challenge of filing for 501(c)(3) status myself, with no legal background, and I was able to receive approval in less than 3 months from the first day I researched how to approach the process. If anyone needs help filing on behalf of their non-profit and doesn't want to go through an expensive accountant or attorney, I’d be happy to help.

Sincerely,

Harish V.
